Obituary of Nels Alfred Yalte

Nels passed away peacefully in the presence of a special friend and caregiver at Sherbrooke Veteran’s Village on January 11, 2017. He was born near Fuselier, SK on June 24, 1923 to Alfred and Elizabeth Hjalte. Following school years he joined the RCAF Goose Squadron stationed north of York, England. After the war years he was employed at Veterans Land Act until retirement in 1978. He married Margaret Preston on July 30, 1966 and enjoyed life at Montgomery Place for 50 years. He was a good gardener and photographer and traveled to many interesting places. He is survived by wife Margaret, sister Lucille (Mel) Morris, sister-in-law Shirley Hjalte, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Karl, Arne and Albert and sister Anna.
