Obituary of Betty-Ann Forbes

Betty-Ann Forbes born August 19, 1932-April 17, 2024 passed away at St. Paul's hospital at the age of 91.

She leaves to mourn her children: Mike (Jocelyn) Stobbs of Moose Jaw, SK, Rob ( Shelley) Stobbs of Miramichi,NB, Sharon (Daniel) Dyck of Saskatoon, SK. She will also be dearly missed by her 6 grandchildren; Lucas Stobbs, Matthew (Amurlee) Stobbs, Daniel Stobbs (Claudia), James Stobbs, Sean Thompson, Jarvis Stobbs (Angeliki) and her 7 great-grandchildren; Logan Stobbs, Madison Stobbs, Jaycee Stobbs, William Stobbs, Noah Stobbs, Oliver Stobbs and Amari Thompson. She was predeceased by her grandson, Jared Stobbs and daughter-in-law Trianna Thompson.

Mom was born in Wymark, SK in 1932. She was adopted by Lancelot and Ethel Forbes who welcomed this young child into their home at the age of 4.

Mom worked many years as a Medical Stenographer for several different physicians in Regina and Saskatoon. We remember mom's passion for figure skating and she became a Gold Figure Skating Judge which took her to several provinces. She was a "tough" judge but fair.

Later in life she wanted to come back home to Saskatchewan after living in New Brunswick for a while. She moved to Saskatoon and lived in her own suite until she was admitted to hospital. She loved needlework, knitting and crocheting; always making a new afghan for someone.

The family would like to thank Neighbourhood Home Care Services for taking her to appointments, getting her groceries and driving her to anyplace she needed. She spoke highly of the staff and truly loved all their help. We also would like to thank all the staff on 7th floor St. Paul's Hospital and also the staff on 5th floor who took care of her during her final hours with care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, mom requested any donations to Cystic Fibrosis.

At her request, no funeral service will be held but family will have prayers on Wed. April 24th.
