He will be deeply missed by Helen, his wife of 55 years, sons Raymond (MariAnn), Rob (Angela), Scott and daughter Carla (Harvey) and grandchildren Madison (Tanner), Emily, Robert and Rose, sisters Kathleen (Honore), Helen and Jane and brothers Ron and Lloyd (Jane), and sisters-in-law Gertie and Janelle. He will also be remembered by in-laws Betty-Anne (Peter), Margaret, Claudette (Ray) and Duane (Connie) as well as numerous, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Phyllis Thomas, siblings Mary, Eddie, James, Bill, and Ken, as well as in-laws Paul, Marianne, Marie and Wally.

Bob grew up on a family farm near Lintlaw, Saskatchewan. He was part of Cadets as he was growing up and completed his Grade 9 education.

Bob and Helen were married in Saskatoon on October 11, 1968. They spent most of their married life on an acreage just outside of Saskatoon.  Bob worked for Davies Electric for 36 years, starting as a delivery driver, working his way up to Sales Manager. Bob loved horses and enjoyed riding and driving teams of horses pulling buggies or sleighs.

He volunteered with the Special Olympics, St Martin’s United Church, Pleasure Drivers at the Western Development Museum and Salvation Army. He loved music, especially old fashioned hymns. Bob will always be remembered for putting his family first, his willingness to always lend a helping hand, his fun-loving mischievous sense of humour and steadfast faith.

We would like to thank the staff of Oliver Lodge for their sincere and dedicated care for Bob over the past few months.

A private celebration of life will be held for family on May 4th.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan or Oliver Lodge in Saskatoon.
