On Monday, December 21, 2020, Neil David Forsyth, loving son, beloved brother and cherished uncle, passed away at the age of 42.
Neil was born on June 12, 1978 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to David and Gayla (Owen) Forsyth. He graduated from Martensville High School in 1998, and then worked as the original Turbo Gas Station Greeter. After high school, Neil successfully completed the Way to Work program at SIAST in Saskatoon. The food bank benefited from Neil’s long standing volunteer work as a member of the buns and bagels crew. For the last 10 years Neil lived at the Luthercare Group Home in Saskatoon, while working at Cosmo industries.
Neil was a people person. Many days were spent cycling around Martensville, stopping to visit at the local hang outs. His summers were spent at Diefenbaker sailing on the family boat, Woodwind. He was always appreciated at the annual family caroling event, his enthusiasm inspiring all to partake. More recently he had taken up bowling and quickly grew to love the game.
Neil was a bright spot of positivity and caring, his good nature endeared him to all he met. Those lucky enough to have spent any time with him, will fondly remember his kind and gentle spirit.
Neil is survived by his mother, Gayla; father, David; brothers, Gregg (Sasha) and Quinn (Margaret); nephew Owen; and nieces, Clara, Emberlene and Lakelynne. A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 2 p.m. and available for streaming at saskatoonfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to www.cosmoindustries.com/DonationsFundraising.html or saskatoonfoodbank.org/donate.
