It is with great sadness the family of Doug Cole announces his passing on January 24, 2021 at the age of 66 years in Saskatoon, SK.  He is lovingly remembered by: his wife, Cheryl; sons, Evan (Anna), Bryan and Jonathan (Jordyn); grandchildren, Owen and Elise; sisters, Sharon Scarlett and Donna Mitzel; as well as nieces and nephews.

Doug, aka “Rokdog”, loved rock music - especially the good stuff from the 70’s; he both listened to and played electric guitars as often as he could.  He was also a gifted electronics repair technician.  During his career he both owned his own business and worked for others.  In his last workplace, Barndog Productions, he got to do both repair equipment and “test” it with his own playing.  Doug would go on to make his own boutique amplifiers under the Rokdog name. He was a genius at finding the right tone and a perfectionist in designs and repairs.

Doug was never conventional.  He lived life to the fullest, on his own terms.  He left an impression on everybody who met him.  He became a Christian in his early 20’s.  He loved God deeply and God loved him deeply and unconditionally.

He had many health setbacks in later years, but he always managed to get back on his feet.  This last time was different.  A complication while recovering from liver cancer treatment caused his organs to stop functioning properly and he wasn’t able to bounce back.  He stepped from this world into his eternal home in heaven in his sleep.  Many thanks to the hard working, caring staff at RUH.

The private funeral service will be held January 30th at 2 p.m.  You are invited to watch the livestream of the funeral at that time by clicking on the link at the top of Doug’s tribute page at www.saskatoonfuneralhome.com.
