For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21

Gloria grew up in the Philippines and immigrated to Canada in 1999.  She and her sister Grace started a care home.  Their passion was taking care of people.  She was hardworking, determined, and successfully operated an approved care home since 2013.  She loved her residents and they loved her.  She accomplished so much in such a short period of time - excelling at everything she set her mind to--from painting to gardening to photography.  She loved travelling, being out in nature, and being with family and friends.  Above all, she loved the Lord.  Her faith sustained her, giving her strength and courage, especially in the past two years. Gloria was predeceased by her mother, Macaria Baluran Clemente (1998).  She will be deeply missed by her loving husband Scott Elliott, children Joseph (Bobby) and Macaria; sister, Grace Diongco (Clem), Jasper and Crystal, brother Ting Ting Clemente (Beth) Jaywynn and Eli; her father, Dominador Clemente, and brother, Joel Clemente in the Philippines.
The family would like to thank Dr. Manna, the medical team at RUH, and the Palliative Care team at St. Paul’s Hospital.

Gloria’s Facebook Post, July 7, 2020

“I am grateful for another year. Waking up to see this day is a blessing. My new world was turned upside down and may not be easy, but I am thankful for another chance to be here, to breathe and to be with my family, relatives and friends. I am highlighting the positive, staying away from stress as much as I can. I am making the most of this lifetime with the Lord’s blessings because I depend on HIM after all. Making all things count and be happy that I am still here. Enjoying every single moment--the good, the bad, the amazing and inspiring times with everyone that is so dear to me. I thank God through it all, another day, another year, another experience! Praise You Lord!”

Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, it shall be opened.”

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

Hymns For The Service

Christ Liveth in Me

Once far from God and dead in sin,

No light my heart could see;

But in God’s Word the light I found,

Now Christ liveth in me.

Chorus

Christ liveth in me,

Christ liveth in me;

Oh! what a salvation this,

That Christ liveth in me.

As rays of light from yonder sun,

The flow’rs of earth set free,

So life and light and love come forth

From Christ living in me.

Chorus

As lives the flow’r within the seed,

As in the cone the tree,

So, praise the Christ of truth and grace,

His Spirit dwelleth in me.

Chorus

With longing all my heart is filled,

That like Him I may be,

As on the wondrous thought I dwell

That Christ liveth in me.

Christ is the Hope of Glory

Christ is the hope of glory, my very life is He,

He has regenerated and saturated me;

He comes to change my body by His subduing might

Like to His glorious body in glory bright!

Chorus

He comes, He comes, Christ comes to glorify me!

My body He’ll transfigure, like His own it then will be.

He comes, He comes, redemption to apply!

As Hope of glory He will come, His saints to glorify.

Christ is the hope of glory, He is God’s mystery,

He shares with me God’s fulness and brings God into me.

He comes to make me blended with God in every way,

That I may share His glory with Him for aye.

Chorus

Christ is the hope of glory, redemption full is He:,

Redemption to my body, from death to set it free,

He comes to make my body a glorious one to be

And swallow death forever in victory.

Chorus

Christ is the hope of glory, He is my history:

His life is my experience, for He is one with me;

He comes to bring me into His glorious liberty,

That one with Him completely I’ll ever be.

Great is Thy Faithfulness

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be

Chorus

Great is Thy faithfulness, great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me

Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love

Chorus

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside

Chorus
