Obituary of Joy Yee

JOY YEE 1913 - 2016 Surrounded with the love of family and friends, Joy Yee passed peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Joy was born in Haiping, China in 1913, and was the first of the family to immigrate to Canada. She owned a quaint shop with her late husband in the former village of Girvin, later moving to Saskatoon to join her extended family as they began to settle in Canada. Even into her late years, Joy was always the one to welcome the first guests into the family restaurant, and her friendly smile and spirit was enjoyed by all. Joy always had a big heart. She lived a very fruitful life, always wanting to give rather than to receive. Leading her life by God’s teachings, her immovable faith has moved us all. Joy has used her life to glorify God in all things she did; she was full of love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness, patience, self-control, goodness and faithfulness. She has been a blessing to our family and to the world, even to her last breath. As a memorable role model, loving wife, sister, auntie, and great- aunt, she will never be forgotten, and forever missed. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Lutheran Sunset Home and Dr.A Nayer for their exceptional and compassionate care.
