Obituary of John Allan Hay

John passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital on Tuesday, November 14th, 2024 with his sons Douglas and Patrick at his bedside. John was born in Souris, Manitoba on November 28th,1946, and grew up on the family farm in Findlay, Manitoba, the son of Margaret (McDonagh) and Frank. John grew up with siblings Maureen, Onagh, Peggy, Pat “Buddy” and Frank. He joined in the RCMP in 1966 where he graduated at Depot, before serving in Yorkton, Saskatoon, Uranium City, Pinehouse Lake, Shellbrook, Broughton Island, and Indian Head where he retired on April 1st, 1990. He then joined the SLGA where he served for another 20 years at his forever home in Saskatoon. John was a beloved father to his sons, Douglas, Patrick, and Johnathon and was a loving husband to his wife, Donna (Wharton). John also loved his many dogs over the years who he spent hours with each day walking along the river. Much of his time he dedicated to reading, art, and the prairies. He always took the time to get to know everyone in his community and was loved by everyone who knew him. He always treated everyone with kindness, and respect. John is now joining his mother and father; son, Johnathon; sister, Onagh; brother, Buddy; and wife, Donna. 

A Come and Go Tea will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the W.A. Edwards Family Centre (333 - 4th Avenue North, Saskatoon; courtesy parking available across the street in the Saskatoon Funeral Home parking lot). 

John, you are loved, and will be missed.
