Leonard Peters

Obituary of Leonard Peters

On May 21st, surrounded in love by his family, Len passed away peacefully. He is survived by Norma, the love of his life, and their three incredible children Norman (Tracey Roath), Heather (Tom Courville) and Jason (Jennifer). He leaves his greatest legacy and the lights of his life, his five grandchildren; Gabriel and Sebastian Courville and Logan, Alison and Cooper Peters. He also leaves his sisters Anna, Caroline, Judy and Deb and one brother Les (Doreen), sisters-in-law Corinne Peters and Margaret (Tom) Austin and several nieces and nephews. Len was predeceased by his parents and his brother Abe. Len was active in the 14th Canadian Hussars, coached soccer and baseball, was Cub leader and had the honour of being the first person appointed the Commander of Navy League in Saskatchewan. He loved curling and enjoyed a good game of whack and walk (golf). His passion outside of work was wood working. His home and many others are graced with the fine pieces of his workmanship. He retired from the Toronto Dominion Bank in 1996 and he and Norma enjoyed those years of retirement, travelling to Hawaii, Alaska, the Caribbean, Great Britain and cruising the Rhine. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Ronald McDonald House (according to Len they make the best chocolate chip cookies). Our grateful thanks to all the nursing staff at RUH and St. Paul’s and to Dr. S. Ahmed and Dr. Ann PausJensen for the care and compassion shown to our family and Len.
