Obituary of Christian Thomas Hansen

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Christian Thomas Hansen on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the age of 31.

Christian was a beloved husband, father, brother, son, nephew, grandson, cousin and friend, and touched everyone’s lives with so much joy and happiness. He was always eager to build something with all the tools and the knowledge that was passed down to him from his mentor and grandfather, Grandpa Will.

Christian had just finished his final tour of tower rigging with Nabatech Communications in Ontario and was getting ready to start his new adventure as a framer in Saskatoon so he could be home with his family every night. Working away from home for the last 6 years has been tough on everyone, and we were all excited to begin this new chapter and form an even stronger bond. He had recently started sharing the love of cooking with Nikkita and would often try and take over or ask for recipes so he could do it on his own.

The pride and joy for Christian were his kids. He welcomed his first child, Nahla Alexis Hansen, to the world on April 19, 2012, and he quickly became the protector of her. They spent every minute they could together, playing with toys or wrestling with each other. In 2015, Christian met Nikkita, and he took on additional title of “stepdad” to Austin Marshall William Bobowski. Their bond grew quickly, as Christian taught Austin things that only a father could teach. On December 19, 2019, Christian and Nikkita welcomed the family tiebreaker, Ryker William Hansen. Christian excitedly gave Ryker his middle name, after his grandfather and always saw pieces of his grandpa in him whenever they looked at each other. When he was home on his time off, Christian would always want to take the kids on an adventure and had often pulled them out of school to do so. One of their favourite activities to do together was to play video games, either Roblox or Super Smash Bros.

Christian’s memory will forever be cherished by his soulmate Nikkita, three children Austin, Nahla and Ryker, his sister Candise (Ryan), niece Brynnley, brother Chad, mother Teresa, father David, grandma Kathy, grandpa Eric, uncle Mike, father-in-law George, mothers-in-law Carol and Gwyn, and brothers-in-law Devan and Brett. Also left to mourn his loss are many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Christian was predeceased by his grandpas William Hansen and Murray Antoneshyn, grandmas Dianne Antoneshyn and Marilyn Johnson, stepfather Bernie Johnson, uncles Randy Lee and Tony Hansen, and cousins Peyton Cruse, Benjamen Burnett, Josh Hansen, Carson Hansen and Aaron Pierce.

Memorial service will be on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 2pm, at the Northridge Centennial Community Centre in Martensville, SK.
