Obituary of Marjorie Bethel

Surrounded by her loved ones, Marjorie passed away on November 28 2016 at RUH. She was born May 19, 1933 at Broderick Saskatchewan. She was the second child of Alice and William Snustead. Marjorie grew up with 2 sisters and 1 brother near Strongfield SK, St. Catherines Ontario and then back to Hawarden SK. She went to normal school in Moose Jaw, graduating at the young age of 17, and became a school teacher. She loved being a teacher and started her career in a one room school house in Netherhill SK. In 1955 she completed her Permanent Teaching Certificate through taking university classes. In 1953 she met Richard Thomas Bethel and on July 4, 1956 they were married at Zion Lutheran Church. She continued to teach in Saskatoon until Laurie and Gordon were born and they moved to Kindersley, Sk. Karen was born there. Shortly after she was born the family moved to Brooks, Alberta. After 7 years there, they moved to Lethbridge, Alberta. In 1978, they moved back to Saskatoon and she continued to live there till her passing. She is survived by her daughter Laurie (Ron) Schwarz and children Stefanie (Tavis) Gauley and son Keenan, Adam Knorr (Brandy Crassweller) and daughters Jordynn and Kennedy, Kelli Knorr (Robin Giesbrecht); Son Gordon (Maria) Bethel and children Catherine Bethel (Bruce Steier), Jeanelle Bethel (Matt Skorski), Michael Bethel; Daughter Karen (Tim) Lasiuta and children Amanda Lasiuta-Rinas (Jeremy Rinas) and daughter Bryelle, Geoffrey Lasiuta, Natasha Lasiuta, Joshua Lasiuta. Sisters Winnifred Spence and Lois Heese. She was predeceased by her husband Tom (1988), Brother in law John Heese (2006), brother Merle Snustead (2016) and brother in law Pres Spence (2016). Funeral

The funeral will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, December 3rd at the Saskatoon Funeral Home.
