Obituary of Joyce Williams

Joyce Williams (Kunard) June 1, 1924 – January 8, 2018 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joyce Williams. Joyce was born in Tugaske, SK to John and Ethel Kunard, She worked at the Canada Egg Plant until she enlisted in the army, taking her basic training in Kitchener, Ontario. Joyce also took a hairdressing course at Marvel. Joyce married George Williams on April 19, 1947. She stayed at home and raised their four daughters. Joyce was a devoted mother, wife and friend. She was very active in her sports, curling at the CN curling rink for many years and bowling at the K.G. Bowling Alley for more than 30 years. Joyce was also a very proud member of the Nutana Legion, She loved to watch the Toronto Blue Jays, Saskatchewan Roughriders and any curling bonspiel. Always coaching them from her recliner rocker. After George's passing, Joyce moved to the Villa Royale, where a new chapter of her life began. She enjoyed many activities and friends at the Villa. Joyce loved her family with all her heart, they meant the world to her. Joyce was predeceased by her husband George, granddaughter Kari, parents John and Ethel, brothers Donny and John Jr. and her sister Willa. Joyce is survived by her daughters Dianne (Bob); Carol (Jim); Georgina (Lyn); and Theresa. Her brother Gary (Lila); sister Gwen, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. “Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you.”
