Obituary of Jean Webster

Jean Webster (nee Robinson) 1926 - 2017 Margaret Florence ‘Jean’ Webster, age 90, of Saskatoon, SK, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on January 22, 2017. She was born in Saskatoon, SK on August 26, 1926. She graduated from Bedford High School and Business College before gaining full time employment with Ecole Electric in Saskatoon. Jean married Jim Webster on May 6, 1949. She then worked part-time as a secretary for Saskatchewan Agriculture in Tisdale until taking on her full time role raising her family in Regina where she lived most of her life. She had a passion and compassion for animals including horses, dogs and any wild animal that needed assistance to get back to their habitat. Before children came along she partook in the fall bird hunting trips with Jim and her brother, Bill Robinson. Jean was an incredible cook and always made sure that her tasty meals provided proper nutrition to growing children and athletes. She was not afraid of hard work, including pitching in with manual labour building of the family cottage at Last Mountain Lake. She was very devoted to her family in every way including spending countless hours getting her children to speed skating training and competitions, assisting with homework and typing essays. Her hobbies included bowling, tennis, cross country skiing, walking, sewing and knitting. Jean enjoyed travel and seeing new parts of the world. In particular, she enjoyed seeing Alaska by cruise and venturing through the Pacific Rim. She volunteered in her community as well as being a Member of IODE in Regina. Jean was predeceased by her SON Warren Lyle Webster, MOTHER Agnes Robinson, FATHER Alec Robinson and BROTHER Bill Robinson. She will be sadly missed by her HUSBAND Jim Webster and CHILDREN: Craig Webster (Brenda), Stuart Webster (Carey) and Brenda Comfort (Tim), GRANDCHILDREN: Kirk, Troy, Derek, Senya, Milo, Marcus, Jordan, Joshua, Linsi and Matthew. Memorials in Jean’s memory may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Funeral

A Celebration of Jean’s life will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Saskatoon Funeral Home at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The pallbearers are Stuart Webster, Derek Webster, Tim Comfort, Marcus Comfort, Jordan Comfort and Joshua Comfort.
