Obituary of Peter Pfeifer

Peter Pfeifer March 23, 1924 – January 27,2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Peter Pfeifer on January 27, 2017. Peter, and his brother Pius, came to Canada from Germany in 1953. They travelled to Saskatoon and began working in construction. His family joined him in Saskatoon the following year. Peter later attended Nutana Collegiate during the day, while working full time at night to support his family. After completing his education, Peter went on to work for The Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for over thirty years. He was a skilled carpenter and built many houses in Saskatoon, along with building a cabin at Little Bear Lake. Peter enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing bridge, and was especially proud of being a beekeeper. He shared his bee’s honey with many friends and family. Peter remained active into his final days. He is survived by his brother Pius (Ida), his five children: Marti (Neil) Mussell, Peter Jr. (Marilyn), Bill (Shannon), Dr. Joe (Jean), Mary Ann (Angie) and the children’s mother, Marie. In addition, he leaves ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church (535 8th St East) , at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2017.
