Obituary of Bruce Jordan Campbell

Bruce Jordan Campbell passed away peacefully with his family at his side on February 21, 2017 in Saskatoon aged 90 years. Mourning his passing are his wife of 62 years, Doris and their children Reg, Wendy (Lyle Paulson), Calvin (Heather), Dan (Karen) and Jeff as well as nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Bruce was born in 1926 in MacDowall, Saskatchewan to John George and Frances Letitia (Adams) Campbell. He was the youngest of 13 children and predeceased by his siblings. He was devoted to his family and loved old time fiddling and baseball his entire life. Bruce joined the Canadian Army at age 17 and served from 1943 until 1945. He was a carpenter and spent 42 years working all over Western Canada and in the N.W.T. Bruce married Doris Kuppenbender in 1954 and they raised their family in Saskatoon. He led an active volunteer life coaching softball, and with the Saskatoon Boys Pipe Band and the Downtown Lions Club. Bruce was a meticulous craftsman and covered his shop walls with his beloved hammer collection. He worked regularly on his laptop, his smartphone and learning guitar into his 90th year. The Blue Jays had no bigger fan than Bruce.

Funeral

Bruce’s Funeral will be on February 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John The Evangelist, 816 Spadina Crescent East, Saskatoon. Private family interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruce’s memory may be made to Veteran’s Village - Sherbrooke Community Centre www.sherbrookecommunitycentre.ca.
