Obituary of Mary Rothenburger

Mary Rothenburger (nee Boklaschuk) was born on February 18, 1921 on the Boklaschuk family farm in the Redberry District. She died at Langham Senior Home on March 9, 2017. She is survived by son Alvin (Susan) Rothenburger, grandson Jeff (Joanne) Bronsch, granddaughter Tamara (Jeff) Bellmont, grandson Chad (Adena) Rothenburger, grandson Chase Rothenburger, and granddaughter Cari (Jason) Pankewich, and great-grandchildren Chantal, Jonathon, Carmen, Kennedy, Kamryn, Ethan, Grace and Gavin. Mary was a remarkably independent woman who displayed generosity and kindness to her friends, neighbors, and family. She loved farm life, gardening, cooking, and most importantly her family. Mary demonstrated incredible perseverance and work ethic in all aspects of her life. It was due to these traits that she was able to live independently, in her own home, for most of her life. In 2014, she made the transition from independent living to supported living at Borden Care Home. In the last year of her life she was transferred to City Hospital and finally to Langham Senior's Home. The family would like to express gratitude to all those who touched Mary's life. A special thank you to the staff at Borden Care Home and Langham Senior's Home for the utmost in compassionate care.
