Obituary of Agnes Asher

Agnes Julia passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in St. Joseph's Home at 102 years. She is survived by Don (Yvonne), Ron (Judy) and Donna Marie (Mike) Millar. Agnes found joy in her grandchildren - Krista (Aaron) Carter, Melody (Ron) Anderson, Aaron (Orishia) Asher, Bonnie Asher and Wyatt Millar. Her great grandchildren - Jocelyn, Kelsey, Megan and Nathan Carter; Lukas, Logan and Jordan Anderson; Rylan Asher and great great granddaughter Adalynne Salazar. She was predeceased by husband Jim in 2000, son Ian 2001, daughter Elaine 2010, daughter-in-law Marcella 1997 and grandson Scott 1998. Born February 2, 1915 in Saskatoon to John and Anna Mary (Perschick) Kusch, she has outlived her seven brothers and two sisters. Married to Jim in 1938 they raised their five children at Scott, SK, then Lacombe, AB, followed by retirement to an acreage at Grandora, SK. Agnes loved sports and in her youth, won many ribbons for running and up until retirement enjoyed curling and golfing. They both worked hard in their retirement raising full blood Simmental cattle and tending a huge garden. Agnes was known in the Horticultural Societies in the communities where they lived, winning awards for show and arrangements of gladiolas. Agnes was a CWL member for over fifty years, receiving a Honorary Lifetime membership. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Home, 33 Valens Drive, Saskatoon S7L 3S2.

Funeral

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 10 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Cathedral, corner of Spadina and 5th Avenue with Reverend Pius Shroh as celebrant.
