Obituary of Genevieve Ann Wright

Genevieve Ann Wright (Schmidt) Genevieve (Genny) Wright, 78, passed away in the early morning of June 30, 2017 at Porteous Lodge in Saskatoon after striving through health issues over the last 20 years that never over shadowed her joy of life. She leaves a daughter, Theressa Wright (Terry Ouellette) and son, John Wright (Christine) and three grandchildren that she adored (Charlie, Abby, and Jackson). She also leaves her siblings (Eva Williams, Mary Metz, Fr. Tony Schmidt OMI, Lena Wright, Helen Boechler (Richard), John Schmidt (Loretta), and Ernest Schmidt). Genny also left in-laws, Mel Martens and Anne Schmidt. Genny was predeceased by her husband, John (Jack) Wright, her parents, Joseph and Magdalena and her siblings Joseph, Adam, Elizabeth, and George. She was predeceased by her in-laws: Hilda Schmidt, Daniel Williams, Frank Metz, Jim Carlson, Charles Wright, Rosemary Martens. Genny was born and raised in Allan, SK on December 25, 1938. As a young woman, she moved into Saskatoon where she started her family with Jack. The big things in life mattered to her – family, friends and good food. Mom’s life had many struggles but thanks to the staff at Simona’s Care Home, St. Paul’s Hospital and Porteous Lodge (and the many caring people that are too numerous to list), she led a life full of love and gratitude. She was a bright, kind and cheerful soul that will be greatly missed by all. Theressa and John and the family would like to thank you sincerely for sharing in their sorrow and prayers. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated and will always be remembered.
