Adella Nayko

Obituary of Adella Martha Nayko

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother on July 3, 2017. Mom was predeceased by her father, John Steciuk; mother, Anne Steciuk; husband, Joseph; son, Terry; sister, Helen Vaughan; brother-in-law, Dennis Vaughan; brother-in- law, Tony Nayko and sister-in-law Annie Nayko; a sister in infancy, Bertha (Bron); and sisters-in-law Nettie Steciuk and Sandi Kert- Steciuk. Mom was born on December 20, 1930 in Melville, Saskatchewan where she received her schooling. After high school, she attended business college in Regina, and worked at The Employment Office in Regina and the Department of Social Welfare in Yorkton. Mom and Dad raised their family in Yorkton. Three years after Dad died, Mom moved to Saskatoon, where she lived independently until her health began to fail, at which time she moved to a personal care home and then to Oliver Lodge until her passing. Mom's greatest priority and joy in her life was raising her family. She leaves to mourn her passing her brother, Adam Steciuk; daughters Connie (David) and Candice (Cal); and many friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice. We would like to thank staff at Oliver Lodge, Lynn's Care Home, Dr. A.J. Harrington, staff at City and St. Paul's hospitals, and friends and relatives who helped Mom and supported family throughout Mom's illness and especially during the last few months of her life.
