Obituary of Lloyd Olenovich

Lloyd Olenovich October 27,1938 to August 20, 2017 Lloyd was born on October 27, 1938 on the farm at Petrofka, Saskatchewan to Joseph and Tillie nee Postnikoff) Olenovich. Our brother, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Janice (Lorne) Preston and family and Shirley (Pat) Dowie and family. Lloyd was predeceased by his Father, Joseph Olenovich in 1977 and his Mother, Tillie Olenovich in 2002. Lloyd farmed until his retirement when he moved into Blaine Lake. There he enjoyed coffee row and visiting with friends and family. Lloyd was our big brother. He supervised the family bbqs and the turkey at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Lloyd especially enjoyed tormenting and teasing his nieces and nephews and the more he gave them, the more they laughed. He loved little dogs and gave us all grief for the big dogs we had.And politics! Oh how he loved our political discussions. Many great times were had watching CNN and CBC. Lloyd lived fiercely independently until February of 2017 when his health began failing. He was treated by professional doctors, nurses and staff who gave him great comfort and care at both St. Pauls Hospital and RUH. A man’s life can be judged by the great memories and love that continues after his death. Our memories will keep him close to us forever. Lloyd’s wish was to be cremated and not have a funeral.

Funeral

Our family and extended family will have a private Celebration of Life. Interment will be at Petrofka Cemetery in the fall when the leaves are turning and the grain dust hangs still in the air.
