Obituary of Charles Borden Humphries

“We will always remember his smile” Charlie passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital at the age of 80 years after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Velma Humphries. Charlie spent his younger days in the Caswell Hill area attending Caswell School, and later at Saskatoon Technical Collegiate where he took their business course. Charlie worked for Swift Canadian Meats, London Life Insurance, and then spent 33 years as Supervisor of the Central Records Department with the Saskatoon Police Service. He was an active member of Fairhaven Bible Chapel serving in various areas of ministry there. Charlie married Margaret Gallagher and their marriage was blessed with three daughters, Barb McCutcheon (Dave), Marianne Blair (Darren), and Lynda Bellows (Jeff). Charlie’s pride and joy were his nine grandchildren, Laura (Colin), Ryan, Jason, Krista (Dana), Chelsea, Kyle, Amy, Brandon and Allison and his five great grandchildren, Jayden, Ryder, Oakley, Kamden, and Rex. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years and his daughters and their families. He is also fondly remembered by his sister Ruth Barber and her family, as well as the extended Gallagher family. Special thanks to Dr. M.N. Jutras for his compassionate care over the years, the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic, Home Care, and Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Strasbourg Bible Camp, Box 308, Strasbourg, SK S0G 4V0.
