He will be greatly missed by his children Jackie (Brodie Uprichard), Beth (Andre Lalondé), Paul (Cara Baldwin) and their mother Janet Thomson. He will also be greatly missed by his soulmate and best friend Donna Pogoda. Mark was predeceased by his son James “Jim” Thomson, his parents Doug and Gwen Thomson and his special aunt, Freda Laycock. Mark is survived by his brother, Keith, and wife, Jan, and their family Adrienne (Jeff White) and David Thomson as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Mark was born January 10, 1956 in Saskatoon, SK. He attended Queen Elizabeth School and Aden Bowman Collegiate where he made many life long friends. Mark continued to make many friends as a Fire Fighter with the Saskatoon Fire Department for 35 years retiring at the rank of Captain. He was a valued member of the Saskatoon Water Rescue Team and had the great opportunity to travel overseas to Australia for a year with his family through the Fire Fighter Exchange Program. He also made many memories as a ski instructor at Mount Blackstrap, a Scouts Canada and Australia leader and through his successful painting company. Mark’s passions were anything that brought joy and laughter to him and those around him, this included sports, travelling, music, cooking, games and socialising, all of which he enjoyed doing with his family and friends. One of Mark’s fondest memories was diving the Great Barrier Reef, exploring the magical world underwater. Mark always poured his heart and soul into everything that he pursued. His sense of humour, honesty and his altruistic acts will always be cherished. Mark will be dearly missed but forever in our hearts.
