Obituary of Clarence Ruf

Clarence Ruf (April 13, 1932 – October 22, 2017) Clarence Edward Ruf was born April 13, 1932 at Stornoway, SK oldest son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Mehling). He was baptized May 5, 1932 and confirmed May 25, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Stornoway, SK. He received his education at Glasgow School in the Stornoway District. He was united in marriage to Muriel Trost on July 15, 1961. They were blessed with three children and five grandchildren. The couple farmed in the Stornoway District until 1992 when they moved to Yorkton. While in Yorkton he continued to work for other farmers until 1997. In 2005 they moved to Saskatoon for health reasons and to be closer to their children. Clarence was predeceased by his parents, grandson Andrew and brother-in-law Laverne Giesbrecht. He leaves to mourn: wife Muriel; sons Dwaine (Janice), Darcy (Bernice), daughter Kim; grandchildren: Matthew (Whitney Clodfelter), Katie, Nathan, Ryan; brother Lorne (Sylvia) Ruf, sister Betty (Ken) Brophy, brothers-in-laws Ron (Marge) Trost, Bill (Evelyn) Trost, Bernie (Betty) Trost and sister-in-law Vel Giesbrecht, and their families.

Funeral

The Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, October 26 at 7 pm. and the Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 27 at 1 pm. Both services from Saskatoon Funeral Home with Pastor Rod Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations, in his memory, can be made to Lutheran Hour Ministries, 270 Lawrence Avenue, Kitchener ON N2M 1Y4 or the Canadian Cancer Society.
