Obituary of Dorothy Strouts

STROUTS, DOROTHY (DODI) 1923 – 2017 Today we say goodbye to our dear Momma, November 11, 2017. She can now be reunited with Lloyd. Left to cherish the memories are her daughter Janice Manson, her son Rick (Pam) Strouts, daughter Margo (Randy) Miller, daughter Carol (Mick) Ireland, son Mark (Karen Gillespie) Strouts and son Jim (Sharon) Strouts. Also left to remember her are her grandchildren Leah (Dave Allardice) Manson, Peter Manson, Jason (Cheryl) Strouts, Sharman (Dan) Woynarski, Crystal Miller, Ryan Miller, Kyle (Courtney) Ireland, Aaron Ireland, Shantana (Jason) Kover and Kailey (Chance Patterson) Strouts and her great grandchildren Keeler Strouts, Hayden and Connor Woynarski, Kash and Lennon Kover. Born in the Dundurn area, she left at an early age and relocated to Saskatoon. While working at the Saskatoon Bookstore she met Lloyd and they were married in June of 1947. Mom and Dad spent most of their years in Saskatoon and a short time in Outlook and Prince Albert before moving back to Saskatoon to retire. Mom was dedicated to her family and worked hard to raise 6 children. She enjoyed spending summers at Christopher Lake with her family and later at their cabin at Pike Lake. After they retired, mom and dad spent a few winters in B.C. to avoid the cold and visit with family but Mom always loved to return to her home and routine. Mom loved children and spent many years babysitting many of the neighborhood children. She was also involved in the Canadian Save the Children Fund and was a tireless volunteer. Being a woman of strong faith, she volunteered and taught Sunday School at Trinity United Church for many years. A huge thank you to the staff at Extendicare who took such wonderful care of Dodi for the last year. In lieu of flowers, donations to Extendicare Family Advisory would be appreciated. Goodbye Momma from all your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
